There are some definite perks about living far from home, and that is starting "new" family traditions. Since we moved to the Land of Enchantment (not sure if the name fits New Mexico??), Dan and I have enjoyed starting new traditions for Christmas Eve. We love to BBQ, drink eggnog, decorate pine cones with glitter, sprinkle Reindeer food on the front lawn, leave cookies for Santa, everybody sleep in the same room, and open 1 gift each from mom and dad. New P.J.'s and slippers are from me, and new Nerf guns and knives (kept in Dan's possession) for the boys and a purse for Berlyn. This year Dan got himself an extra gun, so he could join in on the fun!! Then Dan & I always watch It's a Wonderful Life, while we wait for Santa to arrive. The kids enjoyed their gifts and Berlyn has to carry her purse where ever we go!
