Pump It Up

Since my friend Tania and her son Christian left on Monday to head back to El Paso, we took the kids to "Pump It Up" on the 20th for one last fling. The kids were literally jumping for 1 1/2 hours non-stop! Thank goodness Tania didn't mind playing with Berlyn! I had taken the kids to this place earlier in the summer and Berlyn did not want anything to do with it. However, once Tania started playing with her, Berlyn did not let her sit down! I am not sure what we would have done without Tania and Christian this summer? They have been such good friends and we were sad to see them go!

"Mountain of Doom!

Braxton and Blaze love to make up games for F.H.E. So on Monday the 18th, they decided to get all the pillows from both beds and make a soft landing for them to jump from the bed to the floor. Blaze named the pile of pillows the "Mountain of Doom." It wasn't much of a mountain, but I had to laugh! Berlyn was scared for her first jump, but after she got brave...let's say she was hooked! They had a great time and I was just grateful they were all getting along and no fighting.

A Simple Reminder

I was visiting with my Grandma Boyer (who I have been very close to since a little girl) on the phone 2 days ago and telling her about my "hotel life". I have to say that life in a hotel is no picnic, but as I was telling my Grandma about breakfast M-S; with dinner M-Th, a maid to clean every day, and air conditioning, plus a pool and basket ball court for the kids, I was simply reminded of how spoiled I have been this summer! My Grandma reminded me of how lucky I am and I was grateful for her wisdom and positive outlook in my (not so difficult) situation! I would not recommend living in a hotel for a long period of time, but we have made it work so far. I have met some wonderful people and have even gotten to know 1 of the cooks (Sylvia), who I now adore!

Random

These 3 have been inseparable since we met Christian and his parents at the beginning of the summer! Christian is 7 yr. old and fits right in between Braxton and Blaze. Christian's dad is a Border Patrol agent from El Paso, TX and he is also on detail here until October. His wife Tania and I have become really good friends and we will be sad to see them leave. Tania will take Christian back to El Paso because Christian will be starting school. We are grateful for their friendship and will be sad to see them go!
I am grateful there are other kids at the hotel for our boys to play with. Our daily hotel activities usually include the pool, riding scooters, and playing kickball. We have to get out of the sun mid day and head back to the AC room to read or work on school stuff. The kids grow tired of living in a Residence Inn, but they have been really good sports! They will be starting school August 1st...so I am a little worried about going from a "Care Free Life" to "Reality"?!
This picture was taken on Sunday the 10th at 28 weeks! This pregnancy is really flying by and in many ways I want it to be over, but in some ways I am not ready for the demands of a newborn! At any rate I have decided to ignore the stress and worry I have had previous and enjoy the last 2 1/2 months of this pregnancy.

Huntington Beach

We spent our last day (July 5th) with Mike, Anni, and girls at Huntington Beach. We were so lucky it wasn't crowed as it had been over the weekend! We spent all day basking in the sun and had a blast! The boys loved their new body boards and have turned into little surfers. Dan and Mike also enjoyed catching a few waves. It was really a perfect way to end our time together. These memories are forever ingrained in my soul! Thanks Mike and Anni for coming to see us...WE LOVE YOU!

July 4, 2011

Notice Mike's white feet! You could say he might be wearing socks with sandals!!
Anni and I are both expecting boys! Anni is due September 24th and I am due on the 30th. We are so excited and hope these little guys will be best buds!

Kamree (4 1/2) Shelby (3 in August) Berlyn (2 1/2) Blaze (5 1/2) Braxton (8 1/2) Alexis (7)

We have been so blessed to have been able to see friends and family within the last couple of weeks. Dan and I know the sacrifice it takes to travel a far distance to visit family each year, so it is nice to be the ones visited! Mike and Annikan and 3 girls arrived from Nampa on Friday July 1st and stayed until Wednesday July 6th. We were able to do some fun things, but I think July 4th and 5th were the highlighted days! It is definitely SUMMER in California, so we decided to go mini-golfing at "Castle Park" before lunch. We ended up cutting the 18 course in half because of the heat. We then headed to Red Lobster where Anni and I learned that we both love snow crab legs!! Not only the flavor of the meat, but it is so fun to crack the shell and pull out the meat! We were able to rest a bit before driving around to find a parking spot for the fireworks. There was a big fireworks show at the Rancho Cucamonga Stadium, but we were able to find parking along-side a street that was close to the stadium and not crowded. It was perfect! We set up chairs on the side of the road and put all 6 kids on our Yukon. I have to admit that the Idaho Falls Show is still the best I have seen, but we were glad to see fireworks in a new place!

LEGOLAND

Dan and I had the opportunity to take the boys to LEGOLAND on Thursday June 30th. Since there wasn't much for Berlyn to ride, my friend Shalon was gracious enough to take Berlyn for the day. It was such a beautiful day and not crowded in the least! Dan and I were expecting bigger rides, but the boys loved every minute; especially the water park. Since I have had a fascination with "miniature" things from a very young age...you could say that "Miniland" was my favorite! There was really so much to see and some of the structures were so amazing. I loved that most everything was made of Lego's. It was a great day!
